Every year the D300 Foundation recognizes the achievements of outstanding alumni. Recipients are selected based on outstanding professional and personal success, as well as involvement in civic, cultural or charitable activites.

The District 300 Foundation is looking to honor distinguished individuals whom have graduated from District 300 high schools over the lifetime of the District. You can play an integral part in helping the Foundation honor those individuals.

The criteria for alumni awards is simply stated: outstanding accomplishment in one's chosen career field.

THE DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD is granted to a District 300 graduate or former student over the age of 30 for significant accomplishments on ones profession or service to the community.

THE DISTINGUISHED YOUNG ALUMNI AWARD is granted to D300 graduates or former students, age 30 or younger at time of nomination, for significant accomplishments or service to the community.

THE DISTINGUISHED FRIEND OF THE FOUNDATION AWARD is granted to individuals who may not be alumni of District 300 but in recognition of specific and meritorious service on behalf of the quality and advancement of D300 schools or the Foundation for Educational Excellence.

The selection committee wishes to ensure that it has the chance to review the broadest possible range of qualified nominees. Thus, nominations are invited according to the following guidelines and in the above categories.

Nominations Format:
Nominators should submit the following:

· a letter stating the nomination category and establishing the candidate's qualifications with clear and concise detail;

· the nominee's vita, including a current address;

· at least three supporting letters of nomination from others;

· any additional information that would substantiate the nomination.

Exclusions from Eligibility:
Members of the board of trustees and staff of the District 300 Foundation for Educational Excellence are not eligible to receive alumni awards. The Alumni Awards Selection Committee reserves the right to reassign categories of nomination if deemed applicable.

The mission of the District 300 Foundation for Educational Excellence is to seek and make available resources that enhance and extend learnimg opportunities for all its students.
