Description
This was a huge favorite for many of the
children that visited the unveiling. They loved the idea that the desk was able to grow sun flowers and oat grass.
This is definately for the gardener who has that whimsical perennial border who needs a piece of art to make the neighbors
stop by to enjoy. It could be for that perverbial garden shop, the horticulture class, the landscape office, or the
botanical gardens. Water is needed. It is our only living desk.

How do our children grow?
About the Artist
I attended
University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio from 1989-1992 studying Studio Art and concentrating in Painting and Printmaking. I next
attended and graduated from the Art Institute of Houston in Houston, Texas studying graphic design from 1995-1996. I lived in
Delta Junction, Alaska on and off between 1997 and 2000. I was published as a writer and artist in several small press publications
around that time, including doing the cover art for Axe Factory Review for several volumes, poetry in Black
Cross and earspank: an audio journal. I also did the cover art for Joseph Farley's For the Birds. I moved to Roselle,
Illinois in October, 2000. I self-published Manifesto of Words in 2001. I received my EMT-B license the same year. I have
worked at Glen Oaks Hospital Emergency Room in Glendale Hts., Illinois for five years. I bought a house in Carpentersville
in 2005. I had one untitled solo show at the Dundee Township Public Library in May of last year. I
also became a certified Massage Therapist last year and have applied for my license to practice in that field.
I have three children in District 300 schools: Forrester Cotterman attends Dundee Highlands, Tyler and Wes Cotterman
attend Dundee Middle School.
