Public Relations Intern
Start Date: ASAP
Role/Purpose:
The role of the intern is to provide support and act as a contributing member to the District 300 Foundation for
Educational Excellence Public Relations team while learning valuable business practices. This internship involves providing
assistance with multiple aspects of marketing including but not limited to design, develop, and deploy public relations campaigns.
Responsibilities:
Provide support with PR & external communication efforts. Specifically support preparing press releases, announcements,
and other communication pieces. Will prepare and report on initiatives to the community.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will be a college sophomore or junior
studying to earn a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications or business. The intern must be self-motivated,
detail-oriented, and adaptable. Good writing and verbal communication skills. Candidate should have excellent organizational
skills. They must be able to work well independently and as part of a team and must be able to handle multiple responsibilities
at a time.
Technical skills required:
Proficient in Office Suites, including Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint and Internet research
experience. Familiarity with not-for-profit communications research sources is a plus, but not required.
Web design, publications design work for brochures, handouts, and annual report will be a part of ones duties.

Report Structure:
Intern will report to Public Relations trustee and to Chairman.
FYI -- This position could be full
time or part time - depending upon the chosen candidate's school schedule and availability. This is an unpaid internship
and must be for college course credit. Interns are considered trainees and not employees under Fair Labor Standards Act of
1973.
